Facelift

Facelift

A facelift is the medical aesthetics procedure done to quite literally lift up the face, tighten our facial skin, and produce a more youthful appearance for our face. During a facelift process, some of the procedures involved are the removing excess facial skin, tightening tissues, and reshaping the skin on your face and neck. There are both surgical and non-surgical options (also known as Threadlift) for facelift. Surgical facelift requires 1-2 days of hospital admission, while a non-surgical one can be completed as an outpatient. Treatment duration: 2-6 hours (surgical), about 1 hour (non-surgical)

You don't necessarily have to go under the knife for a facelift. With the latest treatments and technology, facelifts have become more and more common. If you have sagging or loose skin, a facelift can help you stimulate collagen production tighten your skin for a younger, fresher looking complexion.

In a non-surgical facelift, threads are used to pull the skin. These threads are absorbable by our body, and are the same type of threads as those used to suture cuts on our skin.

These threads pull our skin from the inside to an upwards and inwards direction to lift the skin, contour the face, and enhance facial features.

Collagen Filler

Collagen Filler

Collagen, in human or animal, is the most abundant protein that makes up most parts of the living body. Collagen is a natural protein, that makes up 70%-80% of our skin dermal layer. Thus, replenishing collagen on our skin becomes essential in order to maintain a youthful look by delaying the signs of aging. While we can’t demand our collagen production to run like when we’re younger, we may, however, induce some collagen to add on to what we have, or cause the body part to produce more collagen. Hence, collagen fillers may be a way to help you regain your youthful looks by “plumping up” your wrinkles and folds. They are also useful in correcting fine lines and wrinkles.

Hair Loss Treatment

Generally, hair loss is the loss of hair from the scalp (on our head) or other body parts. Hair loss can include excessive shedding, hair thinning, receding hairline, patchy bald spots, or excessively oily or dry scalp. Hair loss differs between men and women, and can also be different according to region and race (a topic still under research!). Age is certainly a factor, though not the ultimate one. Hair loss is more likely to affect males, elder people, and highly stressed individual. Fewer than 45% of women go through their lives without any hair loss problem at all, while 50% of men have been found to have mild hair loss, and 75% with moderate to severe hair loss. Hair loss in men is more of an expectancy compared to that for women. By the age of 80 years, 80% of men are affected by hair loss. Besides, 25% of men start showing hair loss signs as early as in their 20s! For women, about ⅓ of women experience hair loss at some point in their lives, and ⅔ women experience hair loss after menopause. However, hair fall is actually extremely normal for both women and man. Losing up to 250 strands of hair when you shampoo is normal for women with long hair! Aging is no doubt the most common cause of hair loss. However, did you know that you aren’t actually ‘losing hair’, but more on reduced hair growth during old age? On average, our hair grows up to 1.5 inches every month. The process of aging slows down the hair growth (which is unavoidable). So when your hair growth is slower than your hair fall, you start to notice less hair on your head. However, you may want to see a specialist when you experience the following conditions: Rapid hair loss Hair loss accompanied by itching, skin irritation, pain etc. Hair loss happens after consuming certain foods or medication

Hair loss is a common longstanding problem for both men and women, albeit in different forms across gender. Hair loss can be caused by aging, genetics, diet, hormones, or skin infections and medications.

There are several types of hair loss treatment that can be done for you to regain a head full of hair, including Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, mesotherapy, hair regrowth injections, and others.

Discuss with your doctor to see which treatment suits your condition best to help you achieve your desired results.

Sometimes, hair loss can be caused by scalp infections like fungal infections or skin disorders. These can usually be treated with medicines or medical treatments, allowing hair to grow back after treatment.

Some medications or treatments can also lead to hair loss, especially those involving cancer (chemotherapy and radiotherapy), diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, or high blood pressure. Hormonal medication, birth control pills, steroids and acne medications affect our hormonal balance and may also lead to hair loss.

Treatments are aplenty these days for hair loss, so even though your hereditary hair loss can be unavoidable, it is certainly treatable. From topical medicines to treatments and procedures, find your preferred treatment at your preferred clinic, here.

I was a frequent customer of Dr. KO since my scarring and acne problems will always come back to me when I stopped taking the recommended medication (vitamin A /V88). I had been dealing with my facial problems ever since I was a teenager, and I was always considering switching to another clinic as the conditions persisted. Things had changed recently when I was fortunate enough to meet a professional staff, Ms. Jessica Heng, at Dr. KO Klang. She explained to me in a very detailed manner which treatments I should have taken in order to achieve the best outcome, which products are suitable for my skin, and she also recommended the right products for me even though I was tempted to buy the most expensive one, as I thought more expensive and hence better for my skin (typical girl thoughts who think expensive means the best). However, unlike the other aesthetic clinics out there, she was very professional, and she totally didn’t hard sell me any products or treatments throughout the whole consultation. Although my skin is still far from perfect, it is now glowing, fairer, and cleaner, and the pores are totally smaller. Overall, I am really pleased with the professional services and attitude served by Jessica. I am a very happy customer now, and I totally recommend anyone who wishes to have their treatments at Dr. Ko to find Jessica, as she is really helpful, professional and most importantly, she cares, and she won’t hard sell products to her customers.
