Generally, hair loss is the loss of hair from the scalp (on our head) or other body parts. Hair loss can include excessive shedding, hair thinning, receding hairline, patchy bald spots, or excessively oily or dry scalp. Hair loss differs between men and women, and can also be different according to region and race (a topic still under research!).
Age is certainly a factor, though not the ultimate one. Hair loss is more likely to affect males, elder people, and highly stressed individual. Fewer than 45% of women go through their lives without any hair loss problem at all, while 50% of men have been found to have mild hair loss, and 75% with moderate to severe hair loss.
Hair loss in men is more of an expectancy compared to that for women. By the age of 80 years, 80% of men are affected by hair loss. Besides, 25% of men start showing hair loss signs as early as in their 20s!
For women, about ⅓ of women experience hair loss at some point in their lives, and ⅔ women experience hair loss after menopause. However, hair fall is actually extremely normal for both women and man. Losing up to 250 strands of hair when you shampoo is normal for women with long hair!
Aging is no doubt the most common cause of hair loss. However, did you know that you aren’t actually ‘losing hair’, but more on reduced hair growth during old age? On average, our hair grows up to 1.5 inches every month. The process of aging slows down the hair growth (which is unavoidable). So when your hair growth is slower than your hair fall, you start to notice less hair on your head.
However, you may want to see a specialist when you experience the following conditions: Rapid hair loss Hair loss accompanied by itching, skin irritation, pain etc. Hair loss happens after consuming certain foods or medication
Hair loss is a common longstanding problem for both men and women, albeit in different forms across gender. Hair loss can be caused by aging, genetics, diet, hormones, or skin infections and medications.
There are several types of hair loss treatment that can be done for you to regain a head full of hair, including Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, mesotherapy, hair regrowth injections, and others.
Discuss with your doctor to see which treatment suits your condition best to help you achieve your desired results.
Sometimes, hair loss can be caused by scalp infections like fungal infections or skin disorders. These can usually be treated with medicines or medical treatments, allowing hair to grow back after treatment.
Some medications or treatments can also lead to hair loss, especially those involving cancer (chemotherapy and radiotherapy), diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, or high blood pressure. Hormonal medication, birth control pills, steroids and acne medications affect our hormonal balance and may also lead to hair loss.
Treatments are aplenty these days for hair loss, so even though your hereditary hair loss can be unavoidable, it is certainly treatable. From topical medicines to treatments and procedures, find your preferred treatment at your preferred clinic, here.
FUE is a minor surgical approach where the patient has his or her healthy hair follicles removed and transplanted onto the areas needing hair.
These hair follicles are extracted from the root up during the procedure and then carefully planted onto the skin of the bald spot. The FUE treatment is a long and delicate procedure.
Before beginning an FUE treatment, doctors will predetermine the resulting density and pattern of hair planted to achieve natural looking hair flow and satisfactory post-surgery results.

The 3 general types of acne scars are pseudo-scars (red marks left behind by inflammatory acne), depressed scars (tiny holes on the skin due to skin damage), and hypertrophic scars (lumps over the surface of acne). Acne scars can be treated using laser treatments, radiofrequency treatments, filler injections, or chemical peel. Different types of treatments work effectively against different types of acne scars. You can discuss with your doctor to see which treatment suits your skin condition the best.
Got a tattoo that you don't wish to have anymore? Removal creams may not work, and some DIY methods may cause you to hurt yourself, especially if it involves rubbing chemicals on your skin. Laser treatments are the most effective and quickest when it comes to tattoo removal. Laser rays can penetrate deep into the skin without injuring the top surface of your skin, and break up the ink particles in your skin pigments. Depending on the tatto size and depth, multiple treatment sessions may be needed.

I visited "INANNA clinic' for HIFU and CAHA bio-stimulator on my face skin & neck on 10 May 2024 at 11AM while looking for "Dr. Lukas Lim" whom i encountered at "Ko Academy" while learning Aesthetic medicine.
He taught us regenerative techniques in the class. After that class, i wanted to get a skin rejuvenation procedure by him for me, especially neck. I am 53 years old this year. So, asked his phone number and clinic name after the class.
INANNA Clinic at at Nexus, Bangsar South, has quite clean and cozy environment that made me like a home.
The most important one was Dr. Lukas Lim was a good practitioner as i expected. He was good as a lecturer while guiding us in class. And, he was also good while doing Aesthetic procedures. My decision was right.
HIFU (High -Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is awesome procedure for lower face & neck lifting without surgical intervention. I looked for some thesis and studies after coming back from Inanna clinic regarding HIFU at home due to my further curiosity.
Many researches have been done regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of HIFU treatment on both skin lifting and cancer treatment when we look for HIFU on website such as PubMed and Google Scholar.
Both HIFU and CAHA injection procedures, for me, everything was smooth and bearable. Frankly speaking, i could not feel pain much. Felt like someone patting my face and jaw. Neck part was a little bit stingy due to thin skin part. Just minutes later, done by Dr. Lukas.
Cool collagen masks were put on my face and neck at clinic. Then, i happily came back home. It took around 3 hours while taking coffee and tea.
Currently, i am very excited to see how my skin and face lifting result will be with this HIFU and CAHA experience.
It was purely my choice to visit Dr. Lukas Lim and i have no doubt that i will have a very nice result weeks later.
Thanks for asking me to share my experience. I just saw your comment. I put 5 stars after my treatment on the way back home before driving at car park. But, it might be better share my experience with others, right?
Hope my frank and forthright review may help others as well. Especially, for those who will be the 1st visit.
Ah... one more, the staffs were kind, pretty and cute in my eyes. Everything was nice for me there. Thanks for the coffee and tea.
See you one month later for my face and neck lifting and skin rejuvenation review. Bye

Really friendly staff & informative doctor. They were patient & careful as it was my first visit. The doctor explained carefully on the process & gave his views & recommendations, which I felt it was really useful&helpful for me to make my decision & be comfortable with the procedure. After the procedure, i feel OK... initial redness on the cheeks went off after 2+hrs that day itself. A couple of days later i can feel the cheeks "lifted" & looks better. Thank you!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I can feel that the skin booster helps to rehydrate the skin, and more smooth. Normally after facial will feel that the skin is smooth and clean for around week only. After this booster, even after a week I can still feel the smooth and brighten. 😍 I'm so glad that I am the lucky draw winner to experience this! Thank you!

First time facial here. It's so comfortable and good. The therapist Chew Yan was so detailed when doing extraction. I love her professional skill to do extraction. The hot and cool ultrasonic equipment took quite long time to push the serum into my face. It's a comfy and detailed facial experience that I've never had. Will definitely come back again thanks again

Dr Lucas is the best aesthetician I have experienced. He doesn’t try to hard sell you into trying things and only suggest you procedures and treatments that are suitable for your face. He does not alter the look of your face drastically. Inanna also has a wide range of treatments that I’ve never heard of before but can produce instant results that are so amazing. The clinic is beautiful and clean. Everyone there is so friendly and tries their best to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Definitely a must visit 😊

Visited INANNA twice and I would rate a 10-star if I could. The ambience of the clinic is simply gorgeous and the staff are welcoming and friendly, keeping me feeling at ease.
Did a consultation with Dr Lucas and he was very helpful by pointing out my skin issues and how to improve em. He then followed on by curating a personalised treatment to tackle the problems/issues that I have with my skin. He was thorough with the explanations to make sure I was well aware of the type of treatments that I was getting as well as the entire process on how it works.
During my first visit, I did a detox facial for deep cleansing and I could instantly feel my face feeling so clean and rejuvenated. Followed by a pico laser, to even out my skin tone and lastly a yellow light laser to reduce my skin’s sensitivity.
A month later, I came back for a second visit to boost my skin’s complexion with the Plinest treatment. My skin instantly went from dull and lifeless to dewy and plump!
I was feeling rather nervous during the treatment but Dr Lucas managed to soothe me making the entire process painless! It was quick and effective! If you have a low pain threshold, Dr Lucas is definitely your go-to aesthetician as he has the gentlest hands!
Definitely a “must-go-to” place for aesthetic procedures!
