Retainer

Retainer

Retainers avoid teeth from moving back to their original positions after braces or aligners are removed. They prevent movement of teeth until the growth of our gums and skeletal muscles are reorganised following the changes. The frequency of wearing retainers and the length of time needed to keep them on vary, we usually need to wear them for full time for about 6 months, and then only during the night time after that.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

"Wisdom tooth, as commonly known, is actually the third molar tooth. For most of us wisdom teeth are the last teeth in the mouth, usually erupted during the late teens or early 20's. For most of us wisdom teeth are either fully erupted, partially erupted or do not erupt at all. It is common to have some discomfort during eruption of wisdom teeth, epecially the lowers. The most common complaint is pain and swelling. This is normally followed by fever, difficulties in mouth opening, and of course eating. These will normally subside after a few days, however some will require a visit to the dentist or Oral Surgeons for cleaning and a course of antibiotics and painkillers. Subsequently the teeth might require removal. Since most of wisdom teeth, mainly the lower, are impacted, removal means a minor oral surgical procedure."

Very happy with Wong & Sim Dental. I've been to many dentists that just check your teeth and don't give you much discussion or options where to go to from there. Their dental professionals always explain all of the options available to me before starting any treatment, and its painless too! I highly recommend this amazing team!

Thanks for accommodating my appointment in a such short notice and thanks to Dr. Cynthia’s professionalism, spend the time patiently explain the options on my case. Definitely recommend!

If you are the one that has zero pain tolerance and shiver by the mention of the word ‘dentist’, well you have a solution like me. Dr Brenda Sim is definitely the best dentist I’ve ever met. From our first appointment till the end, she was very caring, professional, detailed and consistent in her approach. Knowing that i have fear seeing dentist what more about to go thru root canal procedure, she and her team did their best to put me at ease. I’m definitely going back again and proud to make Dr Brenda Sim as my trusted dentist. Thank you Dr Brenda Sim for the great job done.

- Spotlessly clean - Fabulous staff - Cutting edge dental apparatus - Excellent value; less than a third the cost of Australia - The best part...? Brenda Sim is a 'Foodie' and knows all the best places in Penang to eat. 😃 Little carts amongst dozens of other carts, Brenda can tell you which one is the pick. Mind you, I reckon they're all 7/10 or better, but she knows the best. - If you need dental work, I wouldn't hesitate to come to Penang for a couple of weeks and visit Brenda.

my teenage son had a tooth (premolar) extracted by dr. brenda sim. it was done efficiently, painlessly and gently. the bleeding stopped quickly, after he bit on a cotton swab for about 15 minutes. he did not have to take any of the pain meds nor did he have any trouble eating after an hour or so though he was careful to chew on the other side for a bit. dr. brenda was professional, calm, friendly and competent. we were attended to on time (as per our appt time) and overall, the whole process only took 15 minutes! thank you to dr. brenda and staff!

I was in severe pain during my recent trip to Penang. I have been recommended by the hotel to visit them for their good reputation. Their appointments are fully booked for the week but kind enough to slot me in! Treatment was beyond my expectation and I would not mind to come back to Penang just for dental visit in future!

Dr Brenda was recommended by friends living in Penang. I am currently travelling from England and visited Penang for a few days. I was having significant pain from a tooth and Dr Brenda saw me and stayed late after her usual clinic to help sort my tooth. Dr Brenda is a professional, caring and highly considerate Dentist. I needed root canal work - the procedure went so smoothly and I required no post procedure pain relief. I am so grateful for Dr Brenda and her team. I would not hesitate to recommend this AMAZING practice. Thank you so much.

Attended Dr Brenda's back in March 2017 for a check up having moved from UK to Penang. Been again since for a further check up. Have to say that Brenda is the best dentist I have ever seen. She is very professional, thorough and very friendly. Put me at complete ease. I also called in to book an appointment for my friend who was visiting from the UK who needed an emergency appointment. She was fitted in at short notice and worked a miracle on my friend. The reception staff are also very friendly and very helpful. Would certainly recommend Brenda.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for Dr Brenda’s amazing work! I went in for a root canal and time permitting and my level of comfort was to dictate what other work I could get done. In less than 5 mins in the chair I knew I was in good hands and fortunately we were able to get the root canal, 5 fillings and also a chipped tooth repaired! I was absolutely delighted! My experience was all good form beginning to end! Clean and modern surgery, friendly staff, time conscious and professional! My time was spread over a few appointments which I appreciated as sitting down with my mouth wide open for ages is never fun. Dr Brenda was friendly, gentle, kind and has a caring personality. She has very good English, discussed options, explained things in detail, was informative and there was honest dialogue. I experienced very little pain throughout all the procedures and could tell that she was very thorough. 5 star results – I could not be happier! Additionally, it was extremely cost effective and with a feeling that she was not just wanting to take my money for nothing. (or wanting to inflicted unnecessary dentistry). I am not exaggerating when I say ONE THIRD of the price quoted in Australia! This is a huge step above the experiences I have had here in Australia: Drilling for nothing, charging 3 x the price, rude, condescending, big clumsy fingers, little information! Leaving with a feeling you have been ripped off and mistreated! ALL experiences I know oh too well! I will do my very best in future to go abroad for any further dental work (A holiday and dental work in Asia costs the same and just dental work alone in Australia) – I truly believe Asia has care and quality service that surpasses what we have to endure in Australia. Please always do your homework though and have communication before you commit to a dentist! Thank you Dr Brenda and thank you to your lovely staff!!!! - I am beyond happy with the results and still can't help walking passed a mirror to admire the great work!!! Most importantly I am PAIN FREE and can eat hot and cold foods with confidence!!! If I could give you more than 5 stars I would!!! (scroll down to see a photo)

Wong & Sim Dental Surgery was recommended by a friend of mine. Dr Sim was very so friendly and attentive that she even communicated with me through the phone the day before my visit to get a sound understanding of my situation. The oral surgery procedures were explained clearly and so did my OPG. The extraction of my impacted wisdom teeth was performed by Dr Sim and supported by her assistants. Unbelievably, the entire process was swift and completely pain-free. Dr Sim even made my oral surgery a clinical demonstration for my partner who is a dental student. On the next day, I received a phone call from them checking on my condition. Dr Sim and all the staff members exhibited professionalism and were really welcoming. Plus, the facilities are quite new and good. On top of that, the charges were reasonable. Overall, I give two thumbs up for overall experience. Highly recommended.

Two weeks ago, I did bonding gaps with composite resin together with scaling. It was a comfortable and painless treatment. Dr Brenda was very helpful and gentle throughout the whole process. I was informed that I have few tooth decay and it might requires filling treatment. I used to be afraid of getting oral treatment because I've heard numerous stories from my friends telling me getting filling done is very painful and all that but Dr Brenda guided me through it. So, I made up my mind and made my appointment - which was yesterday. And it was a painless treatment because when she told me " We are done" I was like " what? Really?" and now I couldn't be anymore happier because I have found a dentist that I could trust. Totally changed my perception on oral treatment, after all it's not that scary when your dentist is gentle and caring towards your comfort during the process. Highly recommended !

Dr.Brenda is the best and most gentle dentist I've ever met. She was very sweet and careful during the oral treatments(scaling & filling) and also provided me a lot of information about oral care. Her treatments are painless and so comfortable. She was very caring and kept asking if I'm okay during the treatment being worried that I would be in pain but eventually I'm not. Great and professional service from Brenda and the team. They were so nice that they will call you to remind your appointments and also give you an after-sale services by calling you again after the treatment. Most importantly, the price they are charging here are much more reasonable than other dental clinics in Penang! Will definitely be back!

Before I visited this branch, I used to frequent the other branch in Summerton but now that Dr Brenda is the principal doctor here, I can assure you that you're still going to receive awesome treatment from her. Dr Brenda is known to be very gentle and often her treatments are painless and uncomfortable. There's no need to compare if this branch is better or Summerton is better because both have great and professional doctors who know how to do their jobs well.
