Endometriosis Treatment

Endometriosis Treatment

Endometriosis is a female reproductive disorder caused by the growth of the endometrium (tissue lining the inside of the uterus) growing outside of the uterus. In a normal condition, the endometrium thickens, breaks down and bleeds during each menstrual cycle. However, having endometriosis means that the endometrium is trapped and cannot be released when it breaks down. Endometriosis can cause painful periods and infertility. There are treatments available for endometriosis and it is best to get medical treatments early.

After a women specialist doctor has tested and diagnosed that you have endometriosis, treatments to help you relieve your pain and help treat the condition can be planned.

Pain medications can be administered to help relieve pain, while a hormone therapy can help to regulate your hormones and treat the endometriosis condition.

In some cases, a surgery to remove the endometriosis implants or to remove the utarus and ovaries completely (for severe cases) may be required. However, it is always advisable to get a 2nd opinion before any major surgery.

Cervical Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment

Cervical Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment

The cervix is the lower part of the uterus which extends slightly into the top of vagina. It is also called as the neck of the womb (uterus). It is covered by a thin layer of tissue made of cells. Healthy cells grow, divide and replaced as needed. Cancer of the cervix happens when these cells change, grow out of control rapidly into deeper layers or spread to other organs. The cancer cells form a mass of tissue called a cancerous (malignant) tumour. A regular Pap smear test can detect abnormal cells before they become a cancer. Abnormal cells and tissues can be treated by simple procedures such as colposcopy* and large loop excision of the cervix (LLETZ)*. These procedures can completely remove abnormal tissue before becoming cancer. If the cancer is only confined to the cervix, surgical operations like the Wertheim’s hysterectomy* can remove the cancerous tumour completely. Cervical cancer at the early stage is curable if treated appropriately by trained Gynae-Oncologists. However, patients still need to have follow up for surveillance. If cervical cancer is at the late stages, surgical procedures to remove the uterus and cervix like hysterectomy may be required.

Stretch marks are very common after pregnancy, too. C-sec Scars can be flat, hypertrophic or keloid. Hypertrophic scars grow within the scars, whereas keloid scars grow out from the original scar. The most effective treatment for stretchmarks is laser treatments. The laser creates micro injuries on the skin, allowing the delivery of PRP (platelet rich plasma) into the middle layer of the skin. PRP is made from the patient’s own platelets and fibrin, and play a role in enhancing the “growth factors” that activate and rejuvenate cells in our body. Both these steps stimulate the regeneration of collagen and improve the healing of stretch marks.

C-section Scar Removal

C-section Scar Removal

If your childbirth was done via a Caesarean section (C-sec), you may have a C-sec scar left on your abdomen. This scar can be very visible or they can sometimes fade out, but they rarely disappear. But it is possible to remove the scar via laser treatments. Laser treatments can reduce the size of blood vessels on the scar, causing the colour of the scar to fade and also flatten, returning your abdomen skin to its original aesthetic appearance.

Excellent doctor, very knowledgeable, great professional. I found out about him on my last trimester, due to that i wasn’t happy with my previous obygn. Dr Soon made me and my partner feel at ease and confident that our baby boy was in good hands. He listens to all of our questions and concerns and explains everything. I had delivery via C-Section, Dr. Soon and his staff made sure I’m in no pain and comfortable after the surgery, the recovery was great and easy, the scar is barely visible. Highly recommend!

Followed Dr Soon from his previous place of practice all the way to Columbia because he is that good 👍 he was extremely approachable, patient and generous in sharing his knowledge with us and was always very attentive in addressing all of our concerns. His expertise in doing the detailed scan is also equally as impressive, and as expectant parents it was very assuring for us to know bb was always healthy and happy swimming inside my tummy ☺ we certainly looked forward to our appointments with him each time and we felt confident and comfortable with him thruout our entire pregnancy journey ! 10 stars for sure 🌟 😍

Dr. Soon is very thorough and always go the extra mile in making sure that you get the best treatment and diagnosis. He is also very gentle when doing the treatment and does not rush. He makes sure that you feel safe and comfortable. In my case he took the extra time to ultra sound my kidney to make sure it is healthy and found out it was blocked. He then help me to arrange to meet with specialist. So he literally saved my kidney.

During the 9th week of my pregnancy, I was spotting for the second time and desperately needs an O&G consultant who could provide a detailed scan, thorough explanations, and patient guidance. I am glad and blessed found Dr. Soon through online resources. All the comments from his patients were exactly what I needed. After my first checkup with Dr. Soon, I continued to follow up with him until delivery. I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Soon’s services and consultation throughout my pregnancy journey. As a mother-to-be, I am excited and loved seeing my baby’s development through the ultrasounds and every time checkup Dr. Soon check very details. Each follow-up visit was eagerly anticipated as I looked forward to learning more about my baby’s condition. As working parents-to-be, my husband and I like Dr. Soon’s appointment system, which minimized waiting times. Appointments were mostly on time, with only a 15-20 minute waiting period at most. This was particularly beneficial for pregnant women suffering from severe morning sickness and weakness, as not having to wait too long for the consultation turn. Dr. Soon's nurses were also very nice, ensuring appointments were as scheduled and reminding me the day before. Before my C-section, the nurse will call and remind me the things i need to do. She always explains very carefully. My C-section went smoothly. All the teams involved were very professional and made me feel secure throughout the process. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Edwin Yii, did a great job, explaining the entire process clearly before the surgery. I was surprised that the injection for anesthesia was not painful at all. During the operation, my husband and I were not too worried because we trusted Dr. Soon's expertise. I just had to relax and wait for my baby =). The pediatrician, Dr. Chung, also did a great job. He checked my baby and made sure everything was good and well. I am grateful that he monitored my baby, checked for jaundice, vaccines for newborns, and conducted a hearing test. After the C-section, on the 2nd day, I could walk to the toilet slowly. My friends, colleagues, and relatives visited me and expressed how unbelievable it was that I wasn't experiencing much pain. I was happy to hear my friends say, "You still look good and energetic after C-section!". I highly recommend Dr. Soon to my friends and colleagues who are planning to have a baby or are expecting. Lastly, all of the nurses involved in the C-section, the nursery nurses, and the nurses for mother were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Even now, 12 days after delivery, I still find it hard to believe that I gave birth to a baby. For me, the journey of pregnancy was not easy. Thank you again, Dr. Soon. We will always be grateful for your kindness, care, support, expertise, and professionalism.

First things first I love it that Dr Soon sticks to the appointment time & system. Wouldn't have to wait too long to get to see him. I came across other clinics where you have to wait 3-4 hours just for a 10 minute consultation, which is very very tiring for a pregnant lady. Also, I really like Dr Soon's scanning and explanation. Very detailed and reassuring. My surgery went well too thanks to Dr Soon and team.

Most professional gynae that I ever met. Will help to answer all the questions professionally and will also give advice to what may concerned. I had body itchiness problem since the 1st trimester and tried to use a lot of products but didn’t get any help. Doctor had diagnosed me that I got fungus allergies and after applied the ointment on my tummy, no more itchiness issues. I had my caesarean section and what I can said that I can walk down after few hours and not really feel painful unlike my first caesarean section experience that almost get fainted when walk down from the bed. Truly recommend Dr soon! He the best gynae that I ever met! ☺️

Dr Soon walked with us through every stage of our second pregnancy, providing assurance and care. He was patient and kind. When my water broke at dawn, he was responsive. With his skilful help, our baby was safely and naturally delivered into this world. Thank you, Dr Soon 😄

Dr. Soon was very patient & willing to listen to any concerns I have. He's also very open & honest about the cost of everything, which made me feel like he's really passionate about his job, not a "no money no talk" doctor. It really helps me prepare for my budget. What I like the most is that he's so chill about everything. I'm a very anxious person but somehow I wasn't scared or nervous at all about my elective Csection. The way he explained the procedure was so chill & calm, it felt like I was about to get a tooth extraction, not a major surgery. 🤣 Lastly, of course, as other reviews have said, his Csection skill is top-notched. The scar is barely visible. If I'm pregnant again and still in Miri, I would definitely see him again for sure.

It was my first pregnancy and Dr Soon made it a bit more comfortable and less stressful. My caesarean surgery went well and the incision look so much better than I had expected. It was a pleasant experience having Dr Soon and Nurse Ms. Sim attending to me throughout my antenatal checkups until delivery. Both were professional! So thank you for making my pregnancy journey a happy one!

Well, my first appointment with Dr Soon is to do my yearly Pap smear. And of course he is also the same doctor who delivered my baby last month. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the services and consultation given by Dr Soon Khai Cherng. Here are some of the reasons why. 1. He always patience in answering my doubt and enquiry. He will explain further if there is unclear issue. Clear communication and very informative. 2. He thinks on behalf of patient best benefit. Always give the best solution which create win win solution to both patient and doctor. 3. He is a detail kind of doctor. Will spent time to look further into your case. Giving professional advice and shows clear procedures and guidelines on what to do. 4. The clinic nurse is friendly and willing to help out. Fast responding to patient’s message. 5. Clinic is open on every Monday and Wednesday night. It is very convenient for working people. Therefore, I highly recommend him if you are looking for a gynae or OB doctor.

Glad that my cousin recommended me to Dr Soon for my firstborn’s OB. Thank you Dr Soon and team for the smooth delivery and making sure everything does smoothly before discharged from hospital. During my first visit, he went through all the reports very detail and explained every questions I had. The whole delivery process wasn’t that long, and there’s no complications. My biggest concern was the wound as I’ve heard a lot of terrible experiences from my friend who delivered at other hospital, but thank you Dr Soon the wound is healing up very well. Highly recommend Dr Soon as he’s very professional and the most reliable Obstetrics and Gynecology in Miri!
